Today we highlight three images released by the James Webb Space Telescope from January 2023.

NGC 346, shown here in this image from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam), is a dynamic star cluster that lies within a nebula 200,000 light years away.

Chamaeleon I is a dark molecular cloud, which resides 630 light years away. The cold, wispy cloud material (blue, center) is illuminated in the infrared by the glow of the young, outflowing protostar Ced 110 IRS 4 (orange, upper left).

Lastly, there are two images of the dusty debris disk around AU Mic, a red dwarf star located 32 light-years away in the southern constellation Microscopium.

Thanks for watching!
